  • Is there a lot of walking and climbing on this tour? Yes, this tour is quite active. The climb up Sigiriya involves many stairs, and the sites of Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa are large and require a fair amount of walking. A moderate level of fitness is recommended.
  • Will we have a dedicated guide at each historical site? Your Nanda Tours chauffeur-guide is a licensed professional who will provide excellent commentary at all sites. However, if you are a serious history buff, we can arrange for specialized site guides at Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa for an even deeper dive.
  • Can this tour be combined with a beach stay? Absolutely! This is a very popular option. We can easily extend your tour by adding a few days of relaxation on the south coast (e.g., Bentota, Mirissa) or east coast (e.g., Passikudah, Arugam Bay) depending on the season.
  • What is the best way to get around Polonnaruwa? Exploring by bicycle is a fantastic and popular way to cover the main sites at your own pace. Your driver will follow with the vehicle. If you prefer not to cycle, the private car is perfectly comfortable.
